I am an Assistant Director in Medical Computing at Kitware Inc. I am also an adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I am passionate and curious about medical image processing research. I am enthusiastic about learning and teaching. I am a huge advocate for gender equality, specially in the sciences. I am a Geek. I have a weakness for sci-fi, all things Japanese, comics, and space.
I have been living in the US for more than a decade, after living in Japan and the UK. I was born in Spain, in the beautiful Extremadura, and I still visit often. My two beautiful, bright and smart little kiddos are the light of my life, both born in Chapel Hill, NC.
