I am a Technical Leader at Kitware Inc. I am also an adjunct Assistant Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry, Computer Science and Orthodontics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I am passionate and curious about medical image processing research. I am enthusiastic about learning and teaching. I am a huge advocate for gender equality, specially in the sciences. I am a Geek. I have a weakness for sci-fi, all things Japanese, comics, and space.
I have been living in the US for more than a decade, after living in Japan and the UK. I was born in Spain, in the beautiful Extremadura, and I still visit often. I am married to a talented (and fun!) Computer Science Researcher from Torun, Poland. We have a beautiful, bright, smart little girl, born in 2014 and a little baby boy born in 2018 both in Chapel Hill, NC.
